Shumbalala Game Lodge has a beautiful location on the banks of the seasonal Monwana River in the Thornybush Game Reserve, Limpopo Province. The lodge overlooks an active waterhole and offers guests an exciting safari, with opportunities for viewing all Africa’s game, large and small. Big Five viewing is at its best in the savannah and riverine forests, where the prized leopard is often encountered.

The lodge is exclusive and its glass-fronted suites – all with private decks – ensure a luxurious bush break. The central lodge is a sanctuary for relaxation with its soft leather couches, warming fires, underground wine cellar and library.

Guests return again and again to this vast wilderness to enjoy an oustanding Big Five safari. Two game drives take place daily to maximize the number of sightings, whilst informative bush walks allow guests to experience the smaller wonders of the bush. Rangers are trained to consider the special interests of birding and photography enthusiasts.
